It is the battle of “establishing the state” in the face of attempts to abolish and encircle it between the twin limits of “Israeli military madness” and “Iranian political recklessness.”

Unprecedented Diplomatic Impudence<\/h2>\n

It is no longer a secret to anyone that the “Islamic Republic” is experiencing a state of shock over the liberation of Lebanese decision-making from its grip. Following the fourth round of Washington negotiations, and the historic, decisive response of President of the Republic Gen. Joseph Aoun\u2014which put an end to the guardianship\u2014Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and his spokesperson, Esmaeil Baghaei, abandoned all diplomatic norms via the “X” platform.<\/p>\n

Araghchi\u2019s transgression against the country\u2019s president, followed by Baghaei\u2019s populist proverbs used in colloquial Lebanese, is nothing but evidence of Iran\u2019s inability to comprehend that Beirut has chosen direct negotiations and the interest of its people first. Lebanon is moving past the era of being used as a post box or a bargaining chip to lift sanctions in the Islamabad negotiations. As Kataeb Party leader Samy Gemayel decisively commented: “Get off Lebanon’s sky… the era of guardianship is over.”<\/p>\n

Khardali as a Crime Scene<\/h2>\n

On the other side, Israel continues its criminal war to weaken the legitimate state. The targeting by an enemy drone of a military vehicle belonging to the Lebanese Army on the Khardali road\u2014which resulted in the martyrdom of three of our finest soldiers (Brigadier General Wisam Sabra, Captain Elie Khoury, and Private Hussein Ghazal)\u2014is a textbook crime aimed at sending a bloody message to the military institution.<\/p>\n

Israel wants the Army to understand that its role will not exceed that of “border police,” attempting to justify its massacres (as also happened in Sarafand) with preemptive accusations that officers are cooperating with Hezbollah. In contrast, Hezbollah quickly rushed, as usual, to snipe at the state, considering the blood of the Army martyrs a product of what it called “surrender to the enemy’s conditions in Washington,” in a blatant attempt to strike trust in the military institution and the legitimacy of the negotiations.<\/p>\n
