Exclusive JNews Lebanon
Highly exclusive sources have revealed to Jnews Lebanon that behind the scenes of the recent honoring ceremony in the British capital, London, a heated closed-door meeting took place out of the public eye between Minister Fayez Rasamny and the Director General of Middle East Airlines (MEA), Mohamad El-Hout, in the presence of a prominent diaspora figure.
According to the information, Rasamny explicitly informed El-Hout of the “official political circles” in Beirut rejecting any international settlement draft that proposes operating alternative flights through regional airports as a temporary substitute for Beirut Airport under the pressure of Israeli threats. Rasamny was decisive, addressing El-Hout by saying: “MEA aircraft must take off and land from Beirut only. Any concession at this timing is a surrender of economic sovereignty, and we will not give up a single inch of our land or our skies.”
