MP Adib Abdel Massih wrote on his “X” platform account: “I contacted His Excellency the Minister of Information, Dr. Paul Morcos, and asked him about the football World Cup and ways to enable citizens to watch the matches without heavy financial burdens—especially for restaurant and cafe owners who eagerly await this event every four years. For them, it is an exceptional season that brings families and youth together, reviving the spirit of harmony and love that we have deeply missed amidst the difficult circumstances we are going through.”
He added: “His Excellency kindly briefed me on the ongoing efforts and communications, informing me that His Excellency the President of the Republic is personally overseeing the follow-up of this file, aiming to find a fair solution that grants everyone the opportunity to watch the matches. The goal is for the World Cup to serve as a beacon of hope and joy that unites the Lebanese people, reminding us that moments of shared happiness are still possible despite all circumstances.”
