Exclusive JNews Lebanon
JNews Lebanon has exclusively obtained classified details from high-level intelligence sources in Washington regarding a secret “annex of guarantees” appended to the framework agreement, which was deliberately kept out of the official press briefings.
According to our highly placed sources, this restricted annex contains a binding unilateral commitment from the U.S. administration to Israel, granting the Israeli Air Force explicit authorization to conduct “surgical aerial reconnaissance and preventative strikes” north of the Litani River without prior trilateral coordination, provided they detect what is defined as “an imminent, non-state tactical mobilization.”
Furthermore, the leak reveals that the Lebanese military delegation fiercely resisted this clause during the final 48 hours of the deadlock. The crisis was only bypassed after U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio provided a counter-guarantee to Beirut via an encrypted diplomatic telegram, ensuring that the United States would permanently station an automated electronic monitoring system along the “Model Zones” to act as an objective arbitrator, thereby preventing Israel from using the clause as a pretext for territorial expansion or arbitrary violations of Lebanese sovereignty.
