France has officially secured its ticket to the Round of 32 in the FIFA World Cup 2026™ after a convincing victory over Iraq.
The French national team defeated its Iraqi counterpart 3-0 on Tuesday during the second round of Group I fixtures in the FIFA World Cup 2026™ finals.
Kylian Mbappé fired “Les Bleus” into the lead early on, scoring the opening goal in the 14th minute.
Mbappé struck again in the second half, doubling France’s advantage with his second goal of the night in the 54th minute.

Ousmane Dembélé then sealed the dominant performance, netting the third goal for the French team in the 66th minute.
This marks the second consecutive victory for the French squad following their 3-1 opening-round win against Senegal. The result raises France’s tally to six points at the top of Group I, firmly guaranteeing their advancement to the Round of 32.
Meanwhile, the Iraqi national team continues its quest for its first points of the tournament, having suffered a 4-1 defeat against Norway in the opening matchday.
