انتصار سينمائي: مهرجان بيروت الدولي للأفلام القصيرة 2024 يحتفل بالصمود والتجد

على الرغم من الظروف الاستثنائية التي يعيشها لبنان، وتحت شعار “الولادة من جديد”، اختُتم مهرجان بيروت الدولي للأفلام القصيرة دورته الثامنة عشرة بنجاح، مؤكدًا انتصار السينما وحب الحياة والثقافة على الحروب والعنف والنزاعات. ركزت هذه الدورة على روح التجدد والتطلع إلى المستقبل، في جو من التأكيد على أهمية التكاتف من أجل نهضة لبنان الفنية.
بإشراف وتنظيم “مجتمع بيروت السينمائي”، وعلى مدى خمسة أيام متتالية من 26 إلى 30 تشرين الثاني 2024، تحول مسرح الإليزيه إلى صرح ثقافي للمجتمع السينمائي، حيث جمع الحدث مجموعة من صناع الأفلام والفنانين والمؤثرين وعشاق الثقافة، وكانت فرصة لتبادل القصص والانخراط في حوار هادف. من بين الضيوف المميزين كان وزير الإعلام المهندس زياد مكاري، الذي زار المهرجان مثنيًا على الأهمية الثقافية له، ومشددًا على ما يرمز إليه من قوة الشباب اللبناني وإيمانهم ببلدهم، والتزامهم بإعادة بناء لبنان عبر الثقافة والفن، رغم الأزمات وموجات النزوح والهجرة.
وفي إطار السعي المستمر نحو التضامن الثقافي والإدماج المجتمعي، اجتمع الحاضرون في المهرجان للتوقيع على وثيقة النهضة الثقافية في لبنان، ميثاق يحدد رؤية جماعية لمستقبل لبنان. هذا الإعلان أكثر من مجرد ميثاق – إنه حركة تؤكد على دور الثقافة في شفاء البلد وإعادة بنائه. ودعا الميثاق، الذي وقعه معظم الحاضرين، إلى إنهاء العنف والصراع، واستعمال قوة الثقافة، وتعزيز الإدماج والتنوع، وتعزيز التعاون الدولي، مما جعل الحدث منصة انطلاق لنهضة ثقافية ستتوسع وتستمر في السنوات القادمة. وأعرب وزير الإعلام عن التزام وزارته الكامل بالميثاق، داعيًا إلى المزيد من التعاون والتواصل الثقافي. وقال: “نحن ملتزمون بالتعاون مع شباب لبنان النابض بالحياة لتعزيز هذه الرؤية الثقافية المشتركة. نحن بحاجة إلى تكرار هذا الجهد وتوسيع نطاقه في جميع أنحاء البلاد.”
الحفل الختامي وإعلان النتائج: اختتم مهرجان بيروت الدولي للأفلام القصيرة فعالياته بحفل توزيع جوائز لمختلف الفئات، فجاءت النتائج على الشكل التالي:
• في المسابقة الرسمية المؤهلة لجوائز الأوسكار، تضمنت الجوائز:
o أفضل فيلم روائي لفيلم ” A Summer’s End Poem” ،
o جائزة لجنة التحكيم الخاصة لفيلم ” The Red Sea Makes Me Wanna Cry” ،
o أفضل فيلم رسوم متحركة قصير لفيلم ” Tennis, Oranges” ،
o أفضل فيلم وثائقي قصير لفيلم ” Getty Abortions” ،
o أفضل فيلم تجريبي قصير لفيلم ” The Oasis I Deserve”،
o جائزة لجنة التحكيم الخاصة لفيلم ” Shame”.
o جائزة الجمهور: The Ant that Crossed my Sketchbook
• في فئة “Beirut Spark” ، ذهبت جائزة أفضل فيلم قصير إلى فيلم” Past Perfect”، مع جوائز لجنة التحكيم الخاصة:
o أفضل تصوير سينمائي لفيلم Remains
o أفضل ممثلة: جوي فرام
o أفضل ممثل: جيلبير نصّار.
o جائزة الجمهور لفيلم “غسلة”
• جائزة Beirut Seeds
o أفضل فيلم طلّابي كانت من نصيب فيلم The Providence of Becoming
o تنويه خاص من لجنة التحكيم لفيلم San Pimentae
o جائزة الجمهور لفيلم The Amazing Life of Molly Star
• ومنحت فئة Land, Peace & Justice
o جائزة أفضل فيلم قصير لفيلم I’ll Get Back To You
o تنويه خاص من لجنة التحكيم لفيلم Nowhere, Somewhere, Anywhere
o جائزة الجمهور لفيلم Nowhere, Somewhere, Anywhere
• وحصل فيلم “Farheen” على جائزة إميل شاهين للتميز السينمائي
• وجائزة خاصة بعنوان Echo Engagement Award لفيلم “الإتصال”
جسدت هذه الأفلام الحائزة على جوائز، مُهمة المهرجان في دفع الحدود الإبداعية واستخدام السينما كأداة للتغيير المجتمعي، مع تسليط الضوء على القوة التحويلية لسرد القصص في تشكيل المستقبل.

The 18th edition of the Beirut Shorts International Film Festival concluded on a high note, marking a momentous occasion for Lebanon’s cultural revival. With the theme of “Rebirth” at its core, this year’s exceptional festival celebrated not just the art of cinema, but the resilience and forward-thinking spirit of Lebanese youth and filmmakers. Held at Théâtre Elysée in Ashrafieh, from the 26th till the 30th of November 2024, the event brought together a diverse community of filmmakers, artists, influencers, and cultural enthusiasts, all uniting in a powerful moment of collective action toward Lebanon’s cultural renaissance.
A Cultural Celebration: A Gathering of Creative Minds
For 5 consecutive days, Théâtre Elysée, Ashrafiyeh transformed into a cultural hub where creativity and resilience took center stage. The event served as an invaluable opportunity for the Lebanese creative community to reconnect, share stories, and engage in meaningful dialogue and cultural exchange.
Among the distinguished guests was Minister of Information, Eng. Ziad Makary, who made a special visit to the festival. His statement was a poignant reflection of the event’s broader cultural significance: “This festival symbolizes the strength of Lebanese youth, their belief in their country, and their commitment to rebuilding a Lebanon of culture and art, despite the crises and waves of displacement.”
Makary’s words captured the essence of the festival: Lebanese youth, despite the difficulties they face, continue to lead the charge in Lebanon’s cultural renewal, using film as a platform for social transformation and unity.
The Pact: A Vision for Lebanon’s Cultural Rebirth
In a moment of profound strive for cultural solidarity and societal inclusion, festival attendees came together to sign the Lebanon Cultural Rebirth Declaration, a pact that outlines a collective vision for Lebanon’s future. This declaration is more than a statement—it is a movement, one that emphasizes the role of culture in healing and rebuilding the country.
The pact, signed by the majority of attendees, called for ending violence and conflict, harnessing the power of culture, promoting inclusion and diversity, and fostering international collaboration, marking the event as a launchpad for a cultural rebirth that will grow and scale in the years ahead.
The Ministry of Information expressed its full commitment to the pact, calling for more initiatives like this one to inspire the next phase of Lebanon’s cultural transformation. “We are committed to collaborating with Lebanon’s vibrant youth to advance this shared cultural vision. We need to replicate and scale this effort across the country,” said Minister Makary.
A Night of Awards and Recognition: Celebrating the Best in Film
The Beirut Shorts International Film Festival concluded with a vibrant Awards Ceremony, revealing the results of the jury’s deliberations across various categories. The awards celebrated the festival’s commitment to recognizing outstanding filmmaking, from Oscar-qualifying films to emerging voices in the Beirut Sparks and Beirut Seeds categories.
