A US official revealed to Fox News that US President Donald Trump may grant Iran a strict seven-day deadline to draft an acceptable final text, despite significant breakthroughs achieved in the ongoing negotiations between Washington and Tehran.
The official stated that Trump’s diplomatic approach toward Iran is built upon a definitive, unyielding formula: “No nuclear stockpile, no money.”
According to the leak, Tehran has already agreed in principle to the broad terms of the memorandum of understanding, with the official confirming that 95% of the framework has been successfully completed.
The Final 5%: Ironing Out the Language
The US official clarified that explicit agreements have already been hammered out regarding both the future of Iran’s enriched nuclear stockpile and maritime guarantees in the strategic Strait of Hormuz. The remaining hurdles delaying the formal announcement are strictly centered on the specific legal and technical “phrasing and drafting” of the text.
This development comes as intense backchannel communications persist between Washington and Tehran to finalize the last remaining details of the historic understanding.
