US President Donald Trump has commented on the recent shooting incident near the White House, praising the swift response of the Secret Service and law enforcement personnel during their confrontation with the attacker.
Writing in a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump stated that the “swift and professional action” taken by Secret Service agents successfully contained the security incident, which unfolded near the White House on Saturday evening.
The US President added that the gunman possessed “a violent history and a possible obsession with one of our country’s most cherished structures.” Trump further noted that the armed suspect was killed following an exchange of gunfire with Secret Service officers near the White House security gates.
